Eight days on one winding, in steel.

Most automatics run about two days off the wrist. Blancpain’s 13R5 holds eight, on three mainspring barrels wound in series, which means the watch you took off on Friday is still running the following Saturday and the date is still right. The arc at twelve is the fuel gauge: a small pointer that walks down from eight to zero over the week, so you know before it stops.

The dial around it is the L-Evolution look: vertical stripes, two numerals large enough to read across a room, luminous batons between them and a date at six. It is the same design language as the GMT Alarm and the Moon Phase 8 Days elsewhere on this page, without the extra hands, which is why it costs the least of the three.

The dealer’s description is complete: 8805-1134-53B, steel, 43.5 by 13.4mm, black alligator, grey dial with enlarged luminous numerals at three and nine, date, calibre 13R5, 36 jewels, sapphire, 192-hour reserve with indicator, 100 metres. The one thing to notice is the title, which says black dial; the description and the photograph say grey, and grey is what the reference is. The Amazon rows carry nothing else.

L-Evolution was discontinued, so this is likely older stock or a serviced piece; whether it is new with Blancpain’s warranty is not stated in the rows we read. Ask, and ask for the box and papers.
