Blancpain · Villeret · Grande Date · Jour Rétrograde · steel · on Amazon
A day hand that flies back to Monday.
Blancpain’s Villeret is the classical line, round with a double-stepped bezel and Roman numerals. This one adds two things a plain Villeret does not have: a big date in two windows at six, and the day of the week on a fan at nine, read by a small blue hand that walks across the week and snaps back to Monday at midnight on Sunday. The case is 40mm steel, the dial is white, the strap is black alligator, and the calibre 6950 inside runs about three days. Sold on Amazon by a marketplace seller shipping from Japan.

Retrograde, and why it is harder than it looks
A retrograde hand does not go round. It moves along an arc, one step a day here, and when it reaches the end a spring throws it back to the start. Doing that without jarring the rest of the movement, and making the jump land exactly on Monday every week, is the kind of small mechanical problem Blancpain likes. On the 6668 the arc sits at nine, the days are printed on a white fan, and the hand is blued steel so you can find it.
The big date at six is the other complication: two discs so both digits sit in one window, readable across a desk. Around them the dial is plain Villeret, applied Roman numerals on white, leaf hands, and the double-stepped bezel on a 40mm steel case. The 6950 inside has a silicon balance spring and a three-day reserve, so the day and date do not need resetting after a weekend off the wrist.

Reading the listing
The listing is a title and a model number: Villeret Grand Date Retrograde Day 40mm, 6668 1127 55B. There are no spec rows and no description, so there is nothing to contradict, and the photograph matches the reference: steel, white dial, big date at six, day fan at nine, black strap. The calibre, reserve and water resistance here are Blancpain’s published figures, not the seller’s.
The seller is MS-TR JAPAN, a marketplace seller shipping from Japan with delivery quoted at two to four weeks, and there is no condition statement, no service history and nothing about box or papers. Ask all three before buying, and use the 30-day return window to have the watch checked when it arrives. Every figure here comes from the listing and from Blancpain’s published description, not from handling the watch.

Buying it on Amazon
This is a regular Amazon listing from a marketplace seller with Amazon’s 30-day return window; it is not a Luxury Stores unit and the seller has not published a condition. The second button opens the live search for Villeret Grande Dates in case this one has sold.
Blancpain Villerets have resold for well under new and close to what pre-owned buyers paid, sometimes more, sometimes less; that is a pattern, not a promise, and nothing here is investment advice.

- 30 metres; a dress watch
- Listing has no specs or description
Buy it if
Someone who wants a Blancpain with a real complication under the gold prices, and is comfortable buying from a marketplace seller with the return window as the safety net.
Skip it if
You want delivery this month, a stated condition, or the plain two-hand Villeret.
FAQ
The day of the week is shown by a hand moving along an arc, one step a day; at the end of the week it springs back to Monday instead of going round. On this Villeret the arc sits at nine with a blued hand.
