Two hands, a guilloché dial, and nothing else.

Abraham-Louis Breguet’s watches of the 1790s set the vocabulary this dial still uses: engine-turning on a rose engine so the silver does not glare, a chapter ring of thin Roman numerals, hands with a hollow moon near the tip so the eye finds them, and a secret signature you can only see at an angle. The 5157 keeps all of it and adds nothing. There is no seconds hand to sweep across the guilloché and no date window to cut into it.

The thinness is the other point. The calibre 502.3 is a full-rotor automatic squeezed to about 2.4mm by moving the rotor off-centre and setting it into the plate, which is how the whole watch, case and crystal included, comes in a little over 5mm. On the wrist it disappears under a shirt cuff, which is what a dress watch is for.

The dealer’s description is a short spec list and it is correct: Classique Automatic Ultra Slim, 5157BB/11/9V6, 38mm, 30 metres, automatic, white gold, silver guilloché dial, sapphire, black leather strap, tang buckle. The Amazon rows carry the model number only. The photograph matches: fluted caseband, hobnail centre, two blued hands, no seconds, no date. The calibre, thickness and reserve here are Breguet’s published figures, not the dealer’s.

Whether the watch is new with Breguet’s warranty is not stated in the rows we read; ask, and ask for the box and papers. Every figure here comes from the listing and from Breguet’s published description of the 5157, not from handling the watch.
