The 2023 Avenger

Breitling rebuilt the Avenger in 2023: thinner cases, a cleaner dial with the big luminous markers kept, a rider-tab bezel that can be turned with gloves, and the manufacture 01 in the chronograph versions instead of the bought-in Valjoux of the old Avenger II. The 42mm B01 is the small one; the 44 and the 46 Super Avenger sit above it. 300 metres and a sapphire caseback in the same watch is unusual.

The Breitling 01 is the company’s own column-wheel, vertical-clutch automatic chronograph, introduced in 2009: 47 jewels, 28,800 vph, about 70 hours of reserve, COSC certified, and the reason a Breitling chronograph costs what it does.
