Breitling · Navitimer Automatic 35 · blue · bracelet · on Amazon

The small Navitimer. Slide rule and all, at 35mm.

Breitling makes the Navitimer face in a size for smaller wrists: the Navitimer Automatic 35, a 35mm steel case under 10mm thick, with the beaded bidirectional slide-rule bezel, a blue dial with applied markers, small seconds and a date at six, on the seven-row Navitimer bracelet. Inside is the Breitling 17, an automatic on an ETA base with a COSC certificate and about 38 hours of reserve. It is the least expensive Breitling on this page and the only Navitimer here that a 6-inch wrist can wear. Sold on Amazon by a marketplace dealer.

The Navitimer without the chronograph

The Navitimer of 1952 was built for pilots who did their own navigation: the bezel turns a circular slide rule against the dial so you can multiply, divide, convert units and work out fuel burn without a calculator. Almost nobody uses it for that now, but the beaded bezel and the two rings of tiny numbers are the most recognisable face in pilot’s watches, and they are why the Navitimer is the Breitling people search for.

The Automatic 35 keeps the bezel and the beading and drops the chronograph: three hands, small seconds and a date at six, in a case that is 35mm across and under 10mm thick. The movement is the Breitling 17, an ETA-based automatic regulated to COSC standards with about 38 hours of reserve, not the manufacture 01, which is most of the difference in price.

Reading the listing

The listing carries the full reference, A17395161C1A1, in the title and the model row, and calls it a blue-dial automatic at 35mm; the description repeats the title. The photograph shows the beaded bezel, the blue dial, the small seconds and date at six and the bracelet. The case size, thickness, lug width, calibre 17, its COSC certification, the reserve and the 30 metres are Breitling’s published figures for the reference.

The dealer is Luxor Watches, a marketplace dealer, and the rows we read do not state whether the watch is new with Breitling’s five-year warranty; ask, and ask for the box and card. Nothing here was measured on the watch.

Buying it on Amazon

This is a regular Amazon listing from a marketplace seller with Amazon’s 30-day return window; it is not a Luxury Stores pre-owned unit and the seller has not published a condition. The second button opens the live search for Navitimers in case this one has sold.

Navitimers have resold for under new and close to what pre-owned buyers paid, sometimes more, sometimes less; that is a pattern, not a promise, and nothing here is investment advice.

FAQ

The bezel rotates an outer logarithmic scale against an inner one on the dial, so you can multiply, divide, convert units and calculate fuel consumption or ground speed the way pilots did before electronic calculators. It works; most owners never use it.
