A 1957 diver with a Tudor heart

The Superocean Heritage is Breitling’s 1957 dive watch brought back: the slim bezel with a ceramic insert, the arrow hands, the mesh-pattern rubber strap that recalls the original Milanese bracelet. It is the Breitling that looks least like a pilot’s instrument and most like a diver you would wear with a shirt.

The B20 inside is the movement Breitling and Tudor share: Tudor’s MT5612 with a Breitling rotor and finishing, a silicon balance spring, about 70 hours of reserve and a COSC certificate. On this reference the bezel ring and crown are 18k red gold against a blue ceramic insert and a blue dial, and the strap is the Aero Classic rubber with the mesh pattern moulded in.

Reading the listing

The listing carries the full reference, UB2010161C1S1, in the title and the model row, and calls it a blue-dial B20 automatic; the description repeats the title. The photograph shows the red gold bezel ring and crown, the blue ceramic bezel, the gold hands, the date and the blue rubber strap. The case size, thickness, lug width, the steel and 18k red gold construction, calibre B20, its COSC certification, the reserve and the 200 metres are Breitling’s published figures for the reference; the Tudor base is Breitling’s own description of the B20.

The dealer is Luxor Watches, a marketplace dealer, and the rows we read do not state whether the watch is new with Breitling’s five-year warranty; ask, and ask for the box and card. Nothing here was measured on the watch.

Buying it on Amazon

This is a regular Amazon listing from a marketplace seller with Amazon’s 30-day return window; it is not a Luxury Stores pre-owned unit and the seller has not published a condition. The second button opens the live search for Superocean Heritages in case this one has sold.

Superocean Heritages have resold for under new and close to what pre-owned buyers paid, sometimes more, sometimes less; that is a pattern, not a promise, and nothing here is investment advice.
