The Ballon Bleu is Cartier’s round watch of 2007, a polished pebble with the crown tucked into a curved guard under a blue cabochon, and 33mm is the size Cartier made for women with an automatic movement inside, the calibre 076. In 18k rose gold the case is the point: the same pebble, the same guilloche dial and Roman numerals, in solid gold rather than steel, and the purple alligator strap WGACA’s title mentions is the one in the photograph.
