Cartier · Tank Américaine · small model · pre-owned on Amazon
The curved Tank, in gold, on a burgundy strap.
Louis Cartier drew the Tank in 1917 from the plan view of a Renault tank; the Américaine of 1989 stretched it and curved the case to the wrist. This is the small model in 18k yellow gold: a white dial with black Roman numerals and the inner railway track, blued hands, a sapphire cabochon in the crown, on a burgundy alligator strap. Box included. Pre-owned through a Luxury Stores reseller, graded Excellent.

From the Tank to the Américaine
The Tank is the oldest watch design still in production that most people can name: rectangular, with the strap held by two vertical bars, drawn by Louis Cartier in 1917. The Cintrée of 1921 curved and stretched it; the Américaine of 1989 revived that curved shape for the wrist and put it in gold with a water-resistant case, which the Cintrée never had.
The small model is the one most often worn by women, in quartz, with the same dial as the larger automatic: Roman numerals, a railway minute track and blued sword hands. This unit is in yellow gold on a burgundy strap, which is the combination Cartier’s own boutiques photograph it in.

Reading the listing
The seller lists the case as 35mm, which for a Tank means the length, not the width; the small Américaine is narrow. The number in the title is a case number rather than a Cartier reference, so match the shape, the metal and the dial in the photographs. The box is included; papers are not mentioned, so assume there are none.
Every figure here comes from the listing and from Cartier’s own description of the Tank Américaine, not from handling the watch.

Buying it pre-owned on Amazon
Cartier is pre-owned only on Amazon. This unit is sold by What Goes Around Comes Around through Amazon Luxury Stores, authenticated by the seller with Amazon’s return window on top; it is one piece, and when it sells the listing goes away, so the second button opens the live search for Tanks.
Gold Cartier Tanks have held their audience for a century and resell well against most gold quartz watches; that is a pattern, not a promise, and nothing here is investment advice.
