Set it once. Let the radio do the rest.

Quartz is accurate to seconds a month. Radio control removes even that. The CB0248 listens for a time signal broadcast from an atomic clock and corrects itself, so the time on the dial is the time the standard says it is, not a drifting approximation of it.

The movement is Citizen’s Eco-Drive caliber H145, per retailer specifications. It charges from light, keeps a perpetual calendar that already knows about leap years, and pairs the radio sync with a world-time function for travel.

Around the dial sits a rotating slide-rule chapter ring, the circular calculator that pilot’s watches carried before cockpits had screens. It multiplies, divides, converts units, and works out fuel and distance sums with two rings and no battery.

It is a busy dial as a result. That is either the appeal or the deal-breaker. If you like instruments that show their work, this is a lot of instrument. If you want a clean dial, Citizen’s simpler Eco-Drive lines are the better fit.

The case is 42.4mm across in stainless steel with two crowns on the right side, one for the radio functions and one for setting. It comes on a brown leather strap with a steel buckle, which is unusual for a Promaster and gives it a warmer look than the dive models.
