The bracelet is not attached to the Tsuyosa. It is part of it. The links flow out of a cushion-shaped 40mm case with brushed tops and polished chamfers, in the manner of the 1970s sport-dress watches that now cost many times this.
That is the trade the whole watch is built around. You get the look for very little. You also cannot swap the bracelet for a strap, because there are no lugs in the ordinary sense to fit one to.
Caliber 8210
Inside is Citizen’s own automatic caliber 8210, running on 21 jewels at 21,600 vibrations per hour. It winds by hand as well as by wrist, and it hacks, so the seconds hand stops when you pull the crown to set it.
Citizen quotes a 42-hour power reserve; our catalogue entry carries 40. Either way it will run through a weekend off the wrist if it was worn all week. The caseback is an exhibition window, so the rotor is on view.
What 50m means
The Tsuyosa is rated to 50m. That covers rain, handwashing and an accidental dunk. It is not a swimming watch, and the push-pull crown is a reminder of that. Citizen’s Promaster divers are the ones for water.
The crystal is sapphire with an anti-reflective coating, which at this price is not to be assumed. A calendar window sits at 3 o’clock in a silver surround. Every figure here comes from Citizen’s published specification rather than from measuring a watch ourselves.
