Crazy Hours came first, in 2003: a dial where each numeral sits five positions clockwise from the last, so the sequence looks random and is not, and an hour hand that is held still for sixty minutes and released to jump to the next number. The minute hand is untouched. The Croco cases came later, a crocodile-scale pattern pressed into the bezel, flanks, lugs and dial of the Cintrée Curvex; Iron Croco is the steel version, Gold Croco the gold.

Put together, the watch is entirely texture and numerals: no printed minute track to speak of, no seconds hand, no date, just the relief and the twelve scattered figures with a black outline so they stand off the silver. The white alligator strap is the dealer’s chosen configuration and the reason the watch reads as summer rather than boardroom.
