Franck Muller is known for loud dials, and the Vanguard usually has one: colour, a compass rose, scrambled numerals. This reference is the exception. The dial is black with a fine engine-turned pattern, the numerals are black with only a rose gold outline to pick them out, and the hands are gold and luminous. From across a room it reads as a gold barrel with a dark centre; up close the numerals appear.

The case is solid 18k rose gold, 45 by 54mm and 14mm thick, a big watch that the curve keeps close to the wrist. The dealer describes a titanium trim, which on the Vanguard is the inner ring the strap fixes to. The strap is rubber with a leather top and beige stitching, integrated into the case so the whole thing reads as one curved object.
