Franck Muller · Vanguard Yachting · V 45 · chronograph · steel · on Amazon
The Yachting chronograph, in steel.
Same dial as the rose gold Yachting chronograph elsewhere on this page, in the plain metal: a polished steel barrel case, a deep blue dial with a compass rose at the centre and the bearings and degrees around the flange, white numerals edged in silver and stretched to follow the case, two white counters, a date at six, on a blue rubber strap with a woven-look top. Inside is the FM 7000, a decorated Valjoux 7750 automatic chronograph, 30 metres. The dealer’s description is complete. Sold on Amazon by an independent dealer, and the least expensive Yachting on this page.

The Yachting dial, without the gold
Yachting is the nautical dress of Franck Muller’s Vanguard chronograph: a compass rose in relief at the centre, the outer ring marked in bearings and degrees with north at twelve, and white numerals that read against the blue. In rose gold the numerals are edged in gold and the case is heavy; in steel the edges are silver, the case is lighter and the price drops by more than a third, and the dial is the same.
Underneath it is the FM 7000, Franck Muller’s decorated Valjoux 7750: running seconds at nine, a 30-minute counter at three, date at six, about 42 hours of reserve. The strap is rubber with a woven-look top, the part of the watch that says yacht rather than boardroom, and it runs into the case through a slot rather than hanging from lugs.

Reading the listing
The dealer’s description is complete: polished stainless steel case, 45 by 54mm, 14mm thick, screw-in caseback, blue dial, silver-tone luminescent hands, silver outlined white-filled Arabic numerals, date at six, small seconds at nine, chronograph with a 30-minute counter at three, sapphire, Swiss automatic, 30 metres, blue rubber strap with a carbon-fibre top, deployment buckle, and the reference V 45 CC DT YACHTING AC.BL. The 45 by 54mm is the dealer’s rounding of Franck Muller’s 44 by 53.7mm. The calibre and reserve here are Franck Muller’s published figures. The model row is the dealer’s code.
Whether the watch is new with Franck Muller’s warranty is not stated in the rows we read; ask, and ask for the box and papers. Every figure here comes from the listing and from Franck Muller’s published description, not from handling the watch.

Buying it on Amazon
This is a regular Amazon listing from an independent dealer, Luxor Watches on the day we read it, with Amazon’s 30-day return window; it is not a Luxury Stores pre-owned unit. The second button opens the live search for steel Vanguard Yachtings in case this one has sold.
Steel Vanguards have resold for well under new and close to what pre-owned buyers paid, sometimes more, sometimes less; that is a pattern, not a promise, and nothing here is investment advice.

Verdict
A steel Vanguard Yachting chronograph on Amazon from a dealer: the compass dial and the 7750-based chronograph at the steel price, with a complete description behind it.
Strengths
- The Yachting compass dial at more than a third under the rose gold version
- FM 7000 automatic chronograph on the Valjoux 7750 base
- Dealer description covers case, dial, strap, buckle and movement
- Amazon’s return window on a dealer listing
Trade-offs
- About 44 by 54mm; a big watch
- 30 metres only, for a watch with a compass on it
- Condition and warranty not stated; ask
- Polished steel shows hairlines sooner than the brushed cases
Buy it if
Someone who wants the Yachting dial and the chronograph without paying for gold.
Skip it if
You want the three-hand Yachting, a gold case, or a stated condition.
FAQ
Same dial, layout and FM 7000 movement. This one is polished steel with silver-edged numerals; that one is 18k rose gold with gold-edged numerals and costs more than a third more.
