Ceramic cases are harder than steel and titanium, so they do not pick up the hairline scratches that show on a polished case after a year, and the colour goes all the way through, so a chip does not expose bare metal. The trade is weight, which is fine at this size, and brittleness on a hard knock, which is the risk you take. On the Hawk the ceramic is matte black and the octagonal outline reads as a shadow with a round bezel on top.

The dial is the Hawk’s hexagonal honeycomb pressed into black, with white luminous batons and two black counters. The orange is on the chronograph hands only, the sweep and the counter hands, so it appears when you press the pusher and disappears when you reset.
