Most watch movements hide their structure under a dial. Girard-Perregaux’s nineteenth-century tourbillon pocket watches turned the structure into the design: three identical arrow-shaped bridges, in gold, laid parallel across the movement and visible through the back. The company registered the layout and has kept it in production for over a century, on the Tourbillon with Three Gold Bridges and, since the 2010s, on simpler watches that put the bridges on the front.

The Neo Bridges is the plainest of those: no tourbillon, two bridges instead of three, in black-treated titanium with a sharp arch rather than the old arrow, over a grey sandblasted plate. The balance wheel beats under the lower bridge at six and the barrel sits under the upper one, so what you watch is the two ends of the movement doing the work.

The title and the rows are right: Neo Bridges, titanium, automatic calibre GP084, crystal caseback, 30 metres, openwork dial. The product description underneath is not; it describes a rose gold Laureato Skeleton with a different calibre, and appears to have been pasted from another listing. The photograph settles it: titanium case, black bridges, black alligator strap, which the rows also get wrong by saying bracelet.

Whether the watch is new with GP’s warranty or a dealer-serviced piece is not stated in the rows we read; ask, and ask for the box and papers. Every figure here comes from the listing and from Girard-Perregaux’s published description of the titanium Neo Bridges, not from handling the watch.
