Grand Seiko’s 9S63 is the hand-wound calibre it built for the slim Elegance cases: a mechanical movement with a small seconds at nine and a power reserve indicator at three, 72 hours from full, and the same plus 5 to minus 3 seconds a day standard as the automatics. The SBGK007 puts it in a 39mm steel case under a dual-curved crystal that follows the curve of the dial, so the watch is 11.6mm thick and weighs 70 grams on its strap.

It is the Grand Seiko that wears most like a vintage dress watch, and the one you wind in the morning.
