This is the 2018 Seamaster Diver 300M with 18k yellow gold where the steel version has steel: the bezel ring and crown are gold, the skeleton hands and the raised markers are gold, and the blue ceramic bezel carries its diving scale in Ceragold, Omega’s process for setting gold into ceramic. The dial is the same blue ceramic with laser-engraved waves, the date at six, the helium valve at ten, and it ships on Omega’s blue rubber strap with a steel pin buckle. Inside is the calibre 8800, a Co-Axial Master Chronometer certified by METAS, with about 55 hours of reserve and 300 metres on the case. The least expensive two-tone Seamaster on this page. Yellow gold, Ceragold, and why rubber
Omega makes the two-tone Seamaster in two golds. The Sedna version pairs its rose alloy with a blue or black dial; this is the yellow gold one, the closer match to the two-tone Seamasters of the 1990s and to a two-tone Submariner. The gold is real 18k on the bezel ring, the crown, the hands and the markers, and the bezel scale is Ceragold, where Omega grows gold into the ceramic insert so the numerals sit flush and cannot wear off.
On rubber rather than the two-tone bracelet it is a different proposition: lighter at 116 grams, a lot less expensive, and less formal, with the gold reading as an accent rather than the point of the watch. The 20mm lugs take Omega’s bracelet later if you want it.
