The Planet Ocean, in two metals

The Planet Ocean is Omega’s 600-metre diver, the bigger and deeper sibling of the Seamaster Diver 300M, and the chronograph version is a 45.5mm watch nearly 19mm thick with the calibre 9900 inside. Steel and Sedna gold with a blue ceramic bezel is the version that is more jewellery than tool: the gold scale on the blue ceramic, the gold crown and pushers, the gold centre links. At 267 grams on the bracelet it announces itself.

The seller has this reference listed under two ASINs at the same price; the copy links the one with the clearer title.

Reading the listing

The listing carries the reference 215.20.46.51.03.001 in the title and model row and calls it a Planet Ocean 600M in rose gold, which is the seller’s word for Omega’s Sedna gold on a steel case. The photograph shows the blue ceramic bezel with the gold scale, the blue dial with two counters and the two-tone bracelet. The size, thickness, lug width, lug to lug, weight, calibre, METAS certification, reserve and 600 metres are Omega’s published figures for the reference.

The seller is MS-TR JAPAN, a marketplace seller, and the rows we read do not state whether the watch is new with Omega’s five-year warranty; ask, and ask for the box and card. Nothing here was measured on the watch.

Buying it on Amazon

This is a regular Amazon listing from a marketplace seller with Amazon’s 30-day return window; it is not a Luxury Stores pre-owned unit and the seller has not published a condition. The second button opens the live search for Planet Oceans in case this one has sold.

Planet Oceans have resold for under new and close to what pre-owned buyers paid, sometimes more, sometimes less; that is a pattern, not a promise, and nothing here is investment advice.

  • Blue ceramic bezel with a Sedna gold scale
  • Master Chronometer 9900, 60 hours, 15,000 gauss
  • Full reference on the listing; Amazon’s return window
