The Lady-Datejust is the Datejust at 26mm, the size Rolex made for women from the 1950s until it moved the line to 28mm in 2015. It is the same watch in miniature: an Oyster case with a screw-down crown, an automatic chronometer movement, the date under its Cyclops lens at three, a fluted or engine-turned bezel, and a Jubilee or Oyster bracelet. Because Rolex made them for six decades in every dial and metal, the pre-owned market is deep and this is where the money goes when people search for a women’s Rolex.

Everose is Rolex’s own pink gold alloy, introduced in 2005, and the 179171 is the Lady-Datejust that pairs it with steel: rose bezel, rose crown, rose centre links on the Jubilee. With a white dial and Roman numerals it is the most classical version, the one that looks like a Datejust from any decade until the light catches the rose. Box and papers and a random-format serial put it in the last years of the 26mm line, before Rolex moved the Lady-Datejust to 28mm in 2015.
