Roman, not diamonds

The Lady-Datejust is the Datejust at 26mm, the size Rolex made for women from the 1950s until it moved the line to 28mm in 2015. It is the same watch in miniature: an Oyster case with a screw-down crown, an automatic chronometer movement, the date under its Cyclops lens at three, a fluted or engine-turned bezel, and a Jubilee or Oyster bracelet. Because Rolex made them for six decades in every dial and metal, the pre-owned market is deep and this is where the money goes when people search for a women’s Rolex.

The two-tone Lady-Datejust with a fluted yellow gold bezel on a Jubilee was made as the 69173 through the 1990s with the calibre 2135 and as the 179173 in the 2000s with the calibre 2235; they look the same on the wrist. Rebag gives no reference on its Lady-Datejusts and has several on this page; they differ in dial, wrist sizing, grade and what comes with them, and the copy on each says which. This is the one with Roman numerals rather than diamonds, which is why it costs less than the diamond-dial units around it; the dial reads more like the men’s two-tone Datejust shrunk down.

Reading the listing

Rebag gives the case at 26mm and 11mm high, the band at 13mm, a wrist size of about 6 inches, the band as stainless steel with 18k yellow gold, the case as stainless steel, the dial colour as yellow gold, an automatic movement with date and a screw-down crown, no accessories, and the condition as Very Good with moderate scratches, and no reference. The fluted bezel, champagne Roman dial and Jubilee are from the photograph. The 69173 or 179173 match and its calibre are Rolex’s published figures for the reference it appears to be.

Rebag authenticates in-house and is not a Rolex authorised dealer, and Amazon adds its 30-day return window. Ask for the reference and the serial, whether the removed links come with it, and when it was last serviced. Nothing here was measured on the watch.

Buying it on Amazon

This unit is sold by Rebag through Amazon Luxury Stores, authenticated by the seller with Amazon’s 30-day return window on top; it is one piece, and when it sells the listing goes away, so the second button opens the live search for 26mm Lady-Datejusts.

Steel and two-tone Lady-Datejusts have resold close to what pre-owned buyers paid, sometimes more, sometimes less; that is a pattern, not a promise, and nothing here is investment advice.

FAQ

Rebag does not say. A two-tone 26mm Lady-Datejust with a fluted bezel on a Jubilee is the 69173 of the 1990s or the 179173 of the 2000s; the serial settles it. Ask to see it.
