Rolex · Datejust 36 · 16203 · two-tone · smooth gold bezel · silver Roman dial · Oyster · pre-owned on Amazon
The two-tone Datejust without the fluting.
This is the two-tone Datejust for someone who finds the fluted bezel too much: reference 16203, a 36mm steel Oyster case with a smooth 18k yellow gold bezel and gold crown, a silver dial with Roman numerals, the date under its Cyclops at three, on the two-tone Oyster bracelet. Inside is Rolex’s calibre 3135, an automatic chronometer with a quickset date and about 48 hours of reserve; 100 metres. WGACA grades it Excellent with light scratching and tarnishing and light wear on the caseback. Pre-owned through a Luxury Stores reseller.

Smooth bezel, Oyster bracelet
The Datejust 36 is the watch Rolex built its reputation on: the first self-winding wristwatch with a date that changed at midnight, launched in 1945, and made ever since in a 36mm Oyster case with a screw-down crown, an automatic chronometer movement, the date under its Cyclops lens at three, a fluted, smooth or engine-turned bezel, and a Jubilee or Oyster bracelet. Because Rolex made it for eight decades in every dial and metal, the pre-owned market is deep and this is where the money goes when people search for a Rolex that is not a Submariner.
Rolex made the 16203 alongside the fluted 16233 through the 1990s: the same steel case and calibre 3135, but a smooth polished gold bezel and, usually, the flat-link Oyster bracelet instead of the Jubilee. The effect is a two-tone Datejust that reads as a sports watch with a gold rim, and the silver Roman dial keeps it quiet. It has always cost less than the fluted version pre-owned, and it hides scratches better.

Reading the listing
WGACA gives the reference as 16203, the size as 36mm, the case as steel with a solid bezel and sapphire, the movement as quickset automatic, the clasp as an Oysterclasp and the condition as Excellent with light scratching and tarnishing and light wear on the caseback. It does not state box, papers or year. The two-tone metal, silver Roman dial and Oyster bracelet are from the title and the photograph; the calibre, chronometer rating, reserve and 100 metres are Rolex’s published figures for the 16203.
WGACA authenticates in-house and is not a Rolex authorised dealer, and Amazon adds its 30-day return window. Ask for the serial, whether box or papers come with it, and when it was last serviced. Nothing here was measured on the watch.

Buying it on Amazon
This unit is sold by What Goes Around Comes Around (WGACA) through Amazon Luxury Stores, authenticated by the seller with Amazon’s 30-day return window on top; it is one piece, and when it sells the listing goes away, so the second button opens the live search for 36mm Datejusts.
Steel and two-tone Datejusts have resold close to what pre-owned buyers paid, sometimes more, sometimes less; that is a pattern, not a promise, and nothing here is investment advice.
