Rolex · GMT-Master II · Ref 116710BLNR · pre-owned on Amazon
Two time zones. One bezel everybody recognises.
The original Batman: a 40mm Oystersteel case, the first two-colour ceramic bezel Rolex ever made, a red-tipped 24-hour hand that reads a second zone against it, Caliber 3186 and an Oyster bracelet. Made from 2013 to 2019, then replaced by a Jubilee-bracelet version, which is why this one has become the collectors’ Batman. Amazon has it pre-owned through a Luxury Stores reseller.

Why the Batman matters
Rolex spent years saying a two-colour ceramic bezel could not be made. In 2013 it made one, blue for day and black for night, and put it on this reference. The nickname arrived the same week. It was the first GMT-Master II in ceramic to sell out everywhere at once, and it set the pattern for every waiting list Rolex has had since.
The mechanism is simple to use: the hour hand jumps in one-hour steps when you set local time, the red 24-hour hand keeps home time against the bezel, and turning the bezel gives you a third zone. It is the travel watch other travel watches copy.

116710 versus 126710
In 2019 Rolex replaced this reference with the 126710BLNR: same look, new Caliber 3285 with 70 hours of reserve, and a Jubilee bracelet instead of the Oyster. Some buyers prefer the newer movement. Many prefer this one, because the Oyster bracelet reads as a tool watch and the 116710 is no longer made.
What you give up is reserve: about 48 hours from the 3186 against 70 from the 3285. What you gain is a reference whose supply only shrinks. Every figure here is Rolex’s published specification, not a measurement of the listed unit.

Buying one pre-owned on Amazon
This unit is sold through Amazon Luxury Stores by What Goes Around Comes Around, graded Excellent with light scratching and tarnishing throughout the hardware, serial number stated in the listing. Amazon’s return window applies on top of the seller’s authentication, which is the practical reason to buy a five-figure watch here rather than from a forum.
A steel Rolex sports watch has historically resold close to what it cost, sometimes a little more, sometimes a little less. That is a pattern, not a promise, and nothing here is investment advice.

Verdict
The discontinued original Batman on the Oyster bracelet, the most wanted steel Rolex of its decade, available pre-owned today.
Strengths
- First two-colour ceramic bezel Rolex made; the reference that started the waiting lists
- True traveller GMT: jumping hour hand, independent 24-hour hand, third zone off the bezel
- Oyster bracelet and 40mm case, the tool-watch proportions
- Discontinued in 2019, so supply only falls
Trade-offs
- Pre-owned only on Amazon, one unit at a time
- About 48 hours of reserve against 70 in the current 126710
- Price sits above dealer retail for the current model
- 100m rating; a travel watch, not a diver
