Illustrative render — hero view of the Rolex Submariner Date 41 "Starbucks"

Rolex · Submariner Date · Ref 126610LV · pre-owned on Amazon

The dive watch the others are measured against.

A 41mm Oystersteel case, a green Cerachrom bezel on a black dial, Caliber 3235 with 70 hours of reserve, and 300 metres of water resistance behind a Triplock crown. The green-bezel Submariner has had a years-long waiting list at retail since it appeared in 2020. Amazon has it pre-owned, with box and a dated card, through a Luxury Stores reseller.

Why this one is called the Starbucks

Rolex has made a green Submariner since 2003, but the 2020 version changed the recipe: a black dial under a green ceramic bezel instead of green on green. The nickname followed the colour scheme. It is the same 41mm case as the black Submariner Date, the same movement, the same bracelet, and one green ring that makes it the one people ask about.

Rolex does not publish production numbers, and authorised dealers do not sell it to walk-ins. That is why a pre-owned unit with box and a dated card costs what it costs, and why the pre-owned market is the only market most buyers will ever see.

Caliber 3235 and the 300m case

The 3235 is Rolex’s current date automatic: Chronergy escapement, Parachrom hairspring, about 70 hours of reserve, and Rolex’s own -2/+2 seconds a day standard after casing. The case is rated to 300 metres and sealed by the Triplock crown, and the bezel turns one way only, so a knock can only shorten a timed dive.

The Glidelock clasp extends the bracelet in 2mm steps without tools, which is the feature owners use most and dive computers made least necessary. Every figure here is Rolex’s published specification, not a measurement of the listed unit.

Buying one pre-owned on Amazon

Amazon does not sell new Rolex. This unit comes from Rebag through Amazon Luxury Stores, graded Very Good with minor scratches and wear on case and band, and it ships with its box and a dated warranty card, which matters for resale more than the scratches do. Amazon’s return window applies on top of the seller’s authentication.

A steel Rolex sports watch has historically resold close to what it cost, sometimes a little more, sometimes a little less. That is a pattern, not a promise, and nothing here is investment advice. It is the reason this page exists instead of five mid-range dive watches.

Verdict

The current-generation green Submariner, the reference the whole dive category is measured against, available today instead of after a waiting list.

Strengths

  • Caliber 3235: -2/+2 seconds a day, about 70 hours of reserve
  • 300m rating, Triplock crown, unidirectional Cerachrom bezel
  • Glidelock clasp adjusts without tools
  • Historically strong resale for a steel Rolex sports model

Trade-offs

  • Pre-owned only on Amazon, one unit at a time
  • Price sits well above dealer retail because there is no waiting list
  • 41mm and 12mm thick; a big watch on a small wrist
  • Green is a statement; the black 126610LN is the quieter choice

Buy it if

Someone buying the one dive watch they will keep, who would rather have it this month with box and card than wait years for a retail call.

Skip it if

You want the entry-level Rolex (Oyster Perpetual or Air-King) or a diver that costs a tenth as much and does the same job in the water.

FAQ

No. Amazon carries Rolex only pre-owned through Luxury Stores resellers such as Rebag. This unit is graded Very Good and comes with its box and a dated warranty card.
