Timex · Weekender Chronograph · 40mm
A chronograph for people who do not time anything.
Timex’s Weekender is the strap-swapping casual watch; this is the version with a stopwatch. 40mm, three registers, a date, Indiglo backlight with Night-Mode and a slide-through strap you can change in a minute.

Why Weekender
The Weekender line exists to change straps. The bars are open, the strap slides through, and Timex sells a shelf of coloured fabric to go with it. The chronograph version keeps that and adds two pushers, three registers and a date.
At 40mm and about 9mm thick it is slim for a chronograph, because it is quartz. There is no mechanical column wheel in here and the price says so.

Indiglo, Night-Mode
Indiglo is Timex’s electroluminescent backlight. Press the crown and the whole dial lights evenly. Night-Mode holds it on for a few seconds after a press, which matters on a chronograph with three sub-dials to read.
The dial has bold Arabic numerals at every hour, two outlined registers, and a small date window near four thirty. It is a casual dial, not a racing one.

Which one you get
Timex sells the Weekender Chronograph in several dial and strap combinations under adjacent references. The reference in our catalogue is listed by retailers with a blue dial on brown leather; the photograph on this page shows a cream dial on a grey fabric strap, which matches the sibling reference.
So this page does not promise a dial colour, and the Amazon listing that once sat here has been removed because it shipped the other reference. Water resistance on all of them is 30m: rain, not swimming.

Verdict
The easiest chronograph to own: slim, quartz, backlit, and built around a strap you change on a whim.
Strengths
- Slide-through strap system with a huge range of Timex straps
- Indiglo lights the whole dial; Night-Mode holds it
- About 9mm thick, unusual for a chronograph
- Big numerals that read at arm’s length
Trade-offs
- 30m water resistance
- Mineral crystal
- Dial and strap vary by reference; the photo may not match the listing
- A quartz stopwatch, not a mechanical chronograph
Buy it if
A weekend watch that changes with the outfit, for someone who likes the chronograph layout more than they need the function.
Skip it if
You want a mechanical chronograph, a swimming rating, or a fixed, known dial colour without checking the listing.
FAQ
Yes. The Weekender line uses open lug bars with a slide-through strap, so a new strap goes on in a minute without tools. Timex sells them in many colours.
