The Black Bay 68. The big one, in blue.

This is the largest Black Bay Tudor makes: the 68 at 43mm and 13.6mm thick, a unidirectional 60-minute bezel with a matte black aluminium insert, a sun-brushed Tudor blue domed dial with applied markers and snowflake hands, no date, on the three-link bracelet with smooth side flanks and the T-fit clasp. Inside is Tudor’s manufacture MT5601-U, a COSC and METAS Master Chronometer with about 70 hours of reserve; 200 metres. The least expensive of the new-generation Tudors on this page, listed under Tudor’s own price when we read it, from a marketplace seller.

Why 43mm

Tudor’s Black Bay line runs 37, 39, 41 and now 43: the 68 exists because a large wrist wanted the same snowflake diver without the vintage-size compromise. It uses the smooth-flank bracelet rather than the rivet-style one, a black bezel against a sun-brushed blue dial so the colour reads as blue rather than navy, and the MT5601-U, the 41’s Master Chronometer calibre with 70 hours of reserve. At 13.6mm it is proportionate to its diameter.

The 68 is a wearer’s watch, not a collector’s one: bigger dial, more lume, the same 200 metres.

Reading the listing

The listing carries the reference M7943A1A0NU-0001 in the model row and calls it a 43mm automatic with 200 metres, a sapphire crystal, a 22mm steel bracelet and a blue dial. The photograph shows the black bezel, sun-brushed blue dial, snowflake hands and the smooth-flank bracelet. The thickness, lug width, calibre, both certifications and the reserve are Tudor’s published figures for the reference.

The seller is Watchsavings, a marketplace seller. Ask the seller whether it is new with Tudor’s five-year guarantee card, and for the box; the rows we read do not say. Nothing here was measured on the watch.

Buying it on Amazon

This is a regular Amazon listing from a marketplace seller with Amazon’s 30-day return window; it is not a Luxury Stores pre-owned unit and the seller has not published a condition. The second button opens the live search for Black Bay 68s in case this one has sold.

Black Bay 68s have resold for under new and close to what pre-owned buyers paid, sometimes more, sometimes less; that is a pattern, not a promise, and nothing here is investment advice.

FAQ

43mm across with 22mm lugs and 13.6mm thick; it is Tudor’s answer to wrists that found the 41 small. On a wrist under 7.5 inches the 41 or the 39mm 58 will sit better.
