The 2021 Black Bay Chrono. Reverse panda, on the bracelet.

This is the Black Bay Chrono as Tudor launched it in 2021: reference M79360N-0001, a 41mm steel case with a steel tachymeter bezel carrying a black aluminium disc, a black domed dial with two silver counters, the reverse panda, snowflake hands, the date at six, on the riveted steel bracelet; 200 metres, printed on the dial. Inside is the manufacture MT5813, a column-wheel chronograph with about 70 hours of reserve and a COSC certificate. Tudor has since moved the Black Bay Chrono to new reference numbers; this is the original, from a marketplace seller on Amazon with one five-star rating.

The 2021 Chrono, and the reverse panda

Tudor relaunched the Black Bay Chrono in 2021 with two dials, a white one with black counters, the panda, and this black one with silver counters, the reverse panda, on a 41mm steel case with a steel tachymeter bezel and the MT5813 inside. Since then Tudor has reissued the line under new reference numbers with small changes; the -0001 is the first version, which is why it is not on tudorwatch.com any more. The riveted bracelet is the one the Black Bay is known for.

Same 41mm case as the S&G chronographs on this page, 14.4mm thick, and the same 200 metres; the difference is steel where they have gold.

Reading the listing

The listing carries the reference M79360N-0001 in the title and model row and calls it a Black Bay Chrono automatic chronometer with a black panda dial, 41mm, 200 metres, silver bezel colour and a steel bracelet. The photograph shows the steel bezel with the black disc, the reverse panda dial, the date at six and the riveted bracelet. The calibre, COSC certification, reserve and lug width are Tudor’s figures for the 2021 reference; the thickness is that of the identical current S&G case; the 200 metres is printed on the dial.

The seller is MS-TR JAPAN, a marketplace seller. Ask the seller whether it is new with Tudor’s five-year guarantee card, and for the box; the rows we read do not say. Nothing here was measured on the watch.

Buying it on Amazon

This is a regular Amazon listing from a marketplace seller with Amazon’s 30-day return window; it is not a Luxury Stores pre-owned unit and the seller has not published a condition. The second button opens the live search for Black Bay Chronos in case this one has sold.

Black Bay Chronos have resold for under new and close to what pre-owned buyers paid, sometimes more, sometimes less; that is a pattern, not a promise, and nothing here is investment advice.
