This is the blacked-out Black Bay: reference 79230DK, the Heritage Black Bay Dark Tudor made from 2016 to 2023, a 41mm steel case, bezel and riveted bracelet coated black by PVD, a black dial with luminous markers and snowflake hands, a red triangle on the bezel, no date, 200 metres. Inside is the manufacture MT5602, a COSC chronometer with about 70 hours of reserve. It went away when the Black Bay 41 moved to its METAS generation without a Dark version, and it is the only all-black Black Bay on this page. From a marketplace dealer on Amazon.

The Dark
Tudor made the Black Bay Dark from 2016 to 2023 alongside the black, burgundy and blue 79230s: the same 41mm case and MT5602, coated black by physical vapour deposition, with a matching black bracelet. PVD is a hard coating but it is a coating; it can chip at the edges of the lugs and clasp with years of wear, so ask the dealer for close-up photographs. Tudor has not replaced it in the current Black Bay 41 line, so pre-owned and old dealer stock is where it lives now.
The reference is discontinued and no longer on tudorwatch.com, so the calibre, COSC certificate, reserve, lug width and 200 metres are Tudor’s figures as published when it was current, the 200 metres is also printed on the dial, and the copy states no thickness. The riveted bracelet is the same one as the 79230N on this page, coated to match.
Reading the listing
The listing carries the reference 79230DK-0005 in the title and model row and calls it a 41mm Heritage Black Bay Dark with 200 metres, a black dial and bezel and no additional strap. The photograph shows the all-black case, bezel and riveted bracelet and the red triangle. The calibre, COSC certification, reserve and lug width are Tudor’s figures for the reference at launch.
The seller is Luxor Watches, a marketplace seller. Ask the seller whether it is new with Tudor’s five-year guarantee card, and for the box; the rows we read do not say. Nothing here was measured on the watch.
