This is the colour the Black Bay launched in, on the generation that made it Tudor’s own: reference 79230R, the 41mm Heritage Black Bay Tudor made from 2016 to 2023, in steel with a burgundy anodised bezel and the red triangle at twelve, a black domed dial with gilt-edged luminous markers and the snowflake hands, no date, 200 metres, on the riveted steel bracelet. Inside is the manufacture MT5602, a COSC chronometer with about 70 hours of reserve. Discontinued, with three five-star ratings on Amazon, from a marketplace seller; the seller’s bezel-colour row says silver, the photograph and the R in the reference say burgundy.

Burgundy, the original
The first Black Bay of 2012 had a burgundy bezel, and when Tudor moved the line to its own MT5602 calibre in 2016 the burgundy 79230R came with it, alongside the black 79230N and the blue 79230B. It is the warmest of the three, the gilt dial markers picking up the bezel colour, and it was retired in 2023 when the Black Bay 41 with the METAS calibre replaced the series. The reference is discontinued and no longer on tudorwatch.com, so the calibre, COSC certificate, reserve, lug width and 200 metres are Tudor’s figures as published when it was current, and the copy states no thickness.
Three five-star ratings on Amazon is more than most Tudors get there; the seller does not state condition or whether the guarantee card is included, so ask.
Reading the listing
The listing carries the reference M79230R-0012 in the title and model row and calls it a 41mm automatic chronometer with 200 metres, a sapphire crystal, a 22mm steel bracelet and a black dial. Its bezel-colour row says silver, which the photograph and the R suffix contradict; the copy says burgundy. The calibre, COSC certification, reserve, lug width and 200 metres are Tudor’s figures for the 79230 series at launch.
The seller is Luxor Watches, a marketplace seller. Ask the seller whether it is new with Tudor’s five-year guarantee card, and for the box; the rows we read do not say. Nothing here was measured on the watch.
