The MTP-S110 wears the shape of a dive watch: a broad steel bezel with printed markings, a substantial crown, luminous triangle and baton markers. The bezel does not rotate. It is a fixed steel ring finished to look like the timing bezel on a larger, dearer watch.
That matters for buyers who want to time something. It does not matter for buyers who want the look, a real steel case and 100m of water resistance, which is who this watch is for.
Thin for the money
Casio lists the case at 46.9mm wide but only 10.9mm thick. A solar quartz module is much flatter than an automatic, so a large steel watch can still slide under a cuff. At about 59 grams on its resin band it is light for a steel case of this width.
The dial of the -2AV colourway is blue, per the review that supplied the module number. Other suffixes carry other colours, so check the reference on the listing you land on.
Sibling to the S120L
The MTP-S110 shares its solar formula with the MTP-S120L, the version with a leather strap and a plainer dial. The S110 is the sportier sibling: resin band, diver styling, a date window.
Tough Solar charges from any light reaching the dial, so there is no battery change in normal use. With mineral glass, a steel case and 100m of water resistance, it is a watch built to be worn in the water and forgotten about.
