The point of the SNE597 is that nothing needs doing to it. The V157 solar caliber charges from any light that reaches the dial and stores it. There is no winding, no scheduled battery change and no rotor to keep moving.
The case seals it: a screw-down crown, a solid caseback and a 200m diver’s rating. Seiko puts it in the Prospex Sea line, which is its dive-watch range rather than a lifestyle one.

Seiko’s own page lists 41.0mm across, 11.3mm thick and 48.8mm lug to lug. Amazon’s listing shows a larger diameter, and it is wrong. The manufacturer figure was checked in two regions before it went into our catalogue and it is the only one used here.
On the wrist that adds up to a compact, flat diver by modern standards. The oyster-style bracelet has brushed centre links, polished chamfers and a fold-over clasp with a diver’s extension.
The plain one
Matte black dial, black 120-click unidirectional bezel, trapezoid and round lumed markers, a large lumed triangle at twelve and a white date at three. The Prospex X and DIVER’S 200m sit above six.
Seiko fits a sapphire crystal here. Its cheaper solar divers use Hardlex, so this is the reference to choose if scratches bother you.
