TAG Heuer · Carrera Chronograph Skipper · 39mm · glassbox · on Amazon
The Carrera Skipper. Teal, orange, and a regatta counter.
This is the 2023 revival of the 1968 Heuer Skipper, the regatta chronograph built for the America’s Cup crews: a 39mm steel Carrera glassbox case with the tall domed sapphire and no bezel, a blue dial with a teal 15-minute regatta counter at three whose last five minutes are orange, a teal 12-hour counter at nine, orange hands and a date at six, on a blue strap. Inside is TAG Heuer’s in-house TH20-06, a column-wheel automatic chronograph with about 80 hours of reserve, behind a sapphire caseback. It was the Carrera collectors queued for in 2023. Sold on Amazon by a marketplace dealer at TAG Heuer’s own price.

A regatta counter on a Carrera
The Carrera is Heuer’s racing chronograph of 1963, designed by Jack Heuer for drivers who needed to read a chronograph at a glance: a clean dial, big counters and the minute track pushed out to the flange so nothing gets in the way. TAG Heuer has made it in every size and movement since, and the current line splits into the 44mm sport chronographs with the tachymeter bezel and the smaller glassbox watches that look back at the 1960s.
The Skipper is the Carrera with a sailing complication. The counter at three counts down the 15 minutes before a regatta start, in teal with the last five in orange so the helmsman can see the segments from across the cockpit; the counter at nine is a 12-hour totaliser. TAG Heuer built the TH20-06 specifically for it, a version of its in-house chronograph with the regatta disc, and put it in the 39mm glassbox case whose domed crystal rises above the dial like the 1960s Carreras.

Reading the listing
The listing carries the reference, CBS2213.FN6002, in the title; the model row just says Carrera. The dealer’s description lists the blue dial, steel case, blue textile band, automatic movement and 100 metres. The photograph shows the glassbox case, the teal and orange counters, the orange hands and the date, on a smooth blue strap; TAG Heuer’s own strap for the reference is fabric, so ask which ships. The calibre TH20-06, reserve, thickness, lug width and sapphire caseback are TAG Heuer’s published specifications for the reference.
The dealer is World Of Watches, a marketplace dealer, and the rows we read do not state whether the watch is new with TAG Heuer’s warranty; ask, and ask for the box and card. Nothing here was measured on the watch.

Buying it on Amazon
This is a regular Amazon listing from a marketplace seller with Amazon’s 30-day return window; it is not a Luxury Stores pre-owned unit and the seller has not published a condition. The second button opens the live search for Carreras in case this one has sold.
Carreras have resold for under new and close to what pre-owned buyers paid, sometimes more, sometimes less; that is a pattern, not a promise, and nothing here is investment advice.

Verdict
The Carrera Chronograph Skipper 39 with the teal and orange regatta counter and the in-house TH20-06, on Amazon from a marketplace dealer at TAG Heuer’s price with the reference on the listing.
Strengths
- The 2023 Skipper revival with the 15-minute regatta counter
- In-house TH20-06: column wheel, about 80 hours
- 39mm glassbox case, 100 metres, sapphire caseback
- Reference on the listing; Amazon’s return window
Trade-offs
- Condition and warranty not stated by the dealer; ask
- Strap in the photograph differs from TAG Heuer’s fabric strap; ask
- 13.9mm thick for a 39mm watch, because of the glassbox crystal
- A regatta counter is a niche complication
