The Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch, briefly

NASA flight-qualified the Speedmaster in 1965 after testing it against other chronographs, and Buzz Aldrin wore his on the lunar surface in 1969.

The modern Moonwatch Professional keeps the hand-wound chronograph, the tachymeter bezel and the black dial of the original.

Before you buy

  • Check the crystal: Hesalite (the original plastic) or sapphire ("sapphire sandwich") versions differ in look and price.
  • These are new watches from independent dealers selling through Amazon, not the brand: the dealer’s warranty applies, not the manufacturer’s.
  • Match the reference number in the title to the dial and bracelet in the photos before you buy.
  • Note the seller name and the return window on the listing.
