Best Value — Buy It Today
Expertly curated entry-level timepieces that punch far above their weight. Every watch below ships via Amazon Prime with free returns.
Our standing advice at this tier: buy solar first. A solar or Eco-Drive watch runs 5–25 years before its rechargeable cell needs replacing, and a hand-wound or automatic never needs a battery at all — which is why they lead this grid. Battery-powered quartz still earns its place here, just with eyes open: plan on a battery swap every few years (any local watch shop does it in minutes, and there are plenty of videos if you'd rather DIY). The one battery watch we recommend without hesitation anyway is the Casio Duro — and if you need the absolute cheapest way to get a watch on your wrist, only then start there.
